A Call for Equal Protections

April 17, 2017 in Faith In Action

From David Chavez, Faith Director, ONE Community:

Thank you for being a valuable ONE Community partner and friend.  We would not be where we are today without you and your support.

As part of our efforts to create an Arizona that celebrates, respects, and protects all people, we are working with the Governor's Office to obtain an executive order that would extend current non-discrimination protections for state employees to include gender identity, and extend current non-discrimination requirements for state contractors and vendors to include sexual orientation and gender identity.

An executive order from the Governor would send a powerful message that it's time to treat others, especially LGBT people, how we want to be treated.

My request today is simple, will you please join us in sending a letter to the Governor in support of this essential executive order?  As a leader in our community, your voice could make all the difference.

I'm happy to discuss further if you have any questions.  Thank you for your unwavering support.

Sincerely,

David Chavez
