Applied: Faith Formation and Spiritual Practices for Children, Youth, and Adults,
A Level 2 course begins April 8, 2026.
Faith-forming ministries in today’s congregations mean more than choosing curriculum materials and recruiting volunteers. Child development research shows us that the Sunday School model is not effective in passing on the faith in today’s culture. Volunteers are looking for short-term commitments. Mission and service focuses are desired over study groups. Parents are insisting on safety policies and their intentional implementation. More and more parents wish to keep their infants and children in the service of worship with them. People continue to come to church seeking depth and meaning, as well as through their online church experiences. It is a new world for faith formation and church leaders are taking new looks at “how we’ve always done it before.” Let us step out in faith to discover the best ways to nurture all ages in faithful Christian discipleship.
