This is my second course in seminary, and let me tell you—it’s been a workout! The Old Testament will stretch your mind and your faith at the same time. I went from just reading the Bible to actually studying it—breaking down context, history, language, and meaning. And whew, it’s a whole different experience when you slow down and really dig in.
Each assignment felt like lifting spiritual weights. Some days I left sore (mentally), other days I left stronger. The Old Testament isn’t just about ancient people, it’s about us. It shows God’s power, patience, and purpose through generations of folks who were just as flawed and faithful as we are today.
Studying Scripture this way has deepened my understanding of who God is—faithful, just, and unchanging—and who I am becoming in response to His call. I’ve learned that the Bible isn’t meant to be skimmed; it’s meant to be experienced. Every verse, every story, every challenge reveals more about God’s character and our capacity to grow through obedience and trust.
Now, I approach Scripture with more confidence, curiosity, and reverence. Seminary didn’t just tone my theology—it’s building endurance for the call ahead. I’ve realized that spiritual strength doesn’t come from knowing it all, but from showing up, doing the work, and allowing God to transform you in the process.
So yes, this journey has been a workout—but it’s the kind that builds lifelong strength. Because when God calls you, He doesn’t just give you a task; He gives you the tools and training to carry it through.
Thought for the Month: "God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called. Keep showing up, doing the work, and trust Him to strengthen you for the journey ahead."
