Desert Heritage Church is pleased to invite you to the Ecclesiastical Council (EC) for Carlos Sosa, scheduled for Sunday, May 19, 2024. This important event will be held at Desert Heritage Church and will also be accessible via Zoom to accommodate members from both New Mexico & El Paso (4 PM) and Arizona (3 PM).
During this EC, you will be able to hear Carlos’s presentation and further examine the candidate. Carlos has also completed his Marks Portfolio, an integral part of his formation process. The Marks Portfolio is a thoughtful compilation that reflects Carlos’s personal, professional, and spiritual growth. This presentation is not just a milestone in his journey but also an opportunity for our community to engage with and support his developmental achievements.
For those who wish to familiarize themselves with Carlos's work prior to the council, a link to his portfolio is provided here. (Please Click Here)
We encourage all SWC members to join and participate in this significant event. Whether in person or online, your presence will greatly support Carlos during this pivotal phase of his ecclesiastical journey.
Blessings,
Carlos’ Local Church Committee

Read MoreJoin Gordon Street and Rev. Dr. Tom Martinez for this seven-week book group using Richard Rohr's Breathing Under Water: Spirituality and the Twelve Steps. We'll start off with a general introduction to the book Monday evening at 7 pm (via Zoom). At each successive Monday gathering we'll discuss two steps to get through the book before summer hits!
Fans of Richard Rohr and anyone struggling with (or who has struggled with) addiction will enjoy the book. And note that Rohr approaches addiction quite broadly, noting that at times we are addicted to a way of thinking!
Please email Gordon or Pastor Tom for the Zoom link.

We had an amazing 50th anniversary celebration at The Church of the Painted Hills. Worship was wonderful with special music and a very inspirational message by our transitional pastor, Carlos Sosa. It was wonderful to see folks we hadn’t seen for a long time; and everyone enjoyed the fellowship.
Painted Hills has always had very talented musicians, and many of them returned to sing, and play various instruments.
There were over 90 in attendance; and, after worship we had fellowship and music with a delicious meal.
