Church Women United will celebrate the World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 1st at 10:30 am. World Day of Prayer is a time of concentrated prayer and worship, as women around the world pray for PEACE, during a 24-hour period.  The women/country that prepares the World Day of Prayer program is decided every five years. This year's program has been prepared by women in Palestine. Little did they know the situation their country would be in today.  This year's Arizona host is Shepherd of the Hills United Church of Christ, 5524 E Lafayette Blvd, Phoenix.  This is our opportunity to pray for PEACE with women in over 150 countries during the 24 hour period.

From the national UCC newsletter: ‘We Must End This War'. Symbolizing children killed in Gaza, hundreds of hearts from Bethlehem were delivered to Congress by UCC volunteers.

Join the Arizona Faith Network community for a webinar series engaging with a number of National and Local Faith Leaders, Historians, Museums, and Movement workers to explore the impacts of American Christian Nationalism and its impacts on this great democracy.  Between now and October 2024, this particular webinar series is broken down into 75 to 90-minute webinars that include some of the following: history, exegesis of scripture, historical analysis of its impacts on our democracy, the psychology of nationalism, an exploration of rituals, liturgy, music, and more - followed by a Q&A and group discussion.

March 26th Session Details:  We'll be joined by Rev. Seth Wispelwey for an interactive look on Taking the Stand Against Christian Nationalism - From the Streets to the Courtroom.  Join Rev. Seth Wispelwey, the United Church of Christ’s Minister for Economic Justice for an interactive tour and discussion through the obfuscations, distractions, and dangerous code language that white nationalists use to co-opt, coerce, and commandeer “Christian” identity for the purposes of advancing supremacist violence in communities, classrooms, and Congress - and what people of bold faith and conscience can do to counteract.
