Church Jottings

July 24th marks one year for Kadhim in sanctuary at First Congregational Church in Albuquerque. They will mark that occasion on Saturday July 28th from 12:00-2:00 pm with a prayer service and then give Kadhim an opportunity to speak about his experience.

Starting July 22nd, worship at Church of the Beatitudes began with the reading of a book by Dr Seuss. The service will explore the lessons learned both as a child and adult from these beloved books.

First Congregational of Prescott met their goal of $500 to pay for DACA continuation fees for student Sergio. He has completed 2 years at Yavapai College and has a scholarship at Prescott College where he can complete his degree.

Black Mountain UCC will welcome a Cub Scout pack to the church this fall. 

United Church of Santa Fe is hosting “Insights and Sounds” on July 27th at 5 pm. This is a collaboration between the Santa Fe Desert Chorale and the Sierra Club. Free, but reservations requested at 988-2282.

Community Talk at Church of the Red Rocks on Aug 2nd at 6:15 (potluck at 5) will feature Annette McGivney, editor of Backpacker magazine and professor at NAU. Her topic will focus on the relationship between family violence and trauma and the healing power of wild places.
