Invitation to "In Uncharted Times" on Faith, Climate, Creation: Tuesday, April 10 (NM Interfaith Power/Light)

April 06, 2024 in Faith In Action

From Rev. Talitha Arnold, Senior Pastor of The United Church of Santa Fe:

I’m writing to share an invitation from Sr. Joan Brown of New Mexico Interfaith Power and Light  to a special program (and breakfast) on "Faith, Climate, and Creation Care" next Tuesday, April 10, 8-10 am at First Presbyterian, ABQ. (If coming in person isn't an option, you can tune for the presentation piece at the link below).

Bishop Michael Hunn from the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande and I will share our reflections and invite conversation on questions around religion, climate, and religious leadership in our challenging times.  Some of the reflection will focus upon:

  • What are challenges and opportunities for ministry in a warming climate?

  • Do we need to embrace and evolving theology rooted in deepest values and yet inspiring?

  • What are ways forward to help people embrace an evolving theology that is rooted in reality, action and holiness for all of life?

  • How might this type of discussion about shifting religious worldviews assist young adults who are disillusioned with religion and yet seeking deep spiritual foundations for difficult times in a warming world?

Program details:
8:00  Optional meditation
8:20  Breakfast for in-person
8:45  Program begins for in-person and on-line.
10:00 Concludes

There is no charge but people must register as in-person or on-line.
