Congregational Solar Tour

September 30, 2023 in Faith In Action

Melanie Beikman, Executive Director of Arizona Interfaith Power & Light, invites Tucson-area congregations to this event:

Solar Tour at Shalom Mennonite Fellowship, 6044 E 30th St, Tucson AZ 85711

October 7, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

More info and great pictures here

This is a great opportunity to view a successful project, talk with Shalom member Duane Ediger about the design, installation, and performance to date. Even if you have solar on your house of worship already, there are some interesting additions, like batteries and electrification (eliminating natural gas to use high-efficiency electric appliances), water harvesting, etc. that you may want to aspire to!

Shalom is doing this tour in cooperation with Arizona Interfaith Power & Light, Environment Arizona and the American Solar Energy Society National Solar Tour.

Does your congregation already have solar? They are educating congregations on the new “Direct Pay” option to receive a 30% credit on your solar installation. So please, send feedback Melanie's way!
