Resilience and Innovation in the Face of Climate Change: A Virtual Pilgrimage to Bangladesh

January 08, 2022 in Faith In Action

Global Ministries and the Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) invite you to participate in a virtual pilgrimage to Bangladesh! Join us to learn about how people along the coastlines of Bangladesh are responding to the challenges of climate change, rising ocean levels, salination of land, frequent natural disasters, and consequent disruptions and displacement. Participants will learn about the following responses: climate-resilient agricultural practices, alternative skills training, and women’s initiatives for social and economic development. This immersion and interaction will be facilitated by the CCDB through a series of sessions of pre-recorded materials and live conversations.

Sign up today (see below for dates and program), and let us walk together in hope with our siblings in Bangladesh!

REGISTER HERE

Cost $25.00 per person
100% of the cost will go to CCDB for the production of pre-recorded materials, visits to various communities, and support of community projects.

Why a virtual pilgrimage?

“The virtual pilgrimage made rich connections to the sacred and active presence of God’s spirit in unexpected ways. [Distanced] sharing of bread and wine at God’s table was a powerful statement to the connections being made and the oneness of God’s people in ways unanticipated. Anywhere can become a place for an encounter with the Holy.” – Ed Evans, former virtual pilgrimage participant

“Thanks to the staff of Global Ministries in making this pilgrimage possible. This information was not only instructive, but I felt like a made new friends in Christ… I hope that there will be more opportunities like this.” – Ken Moore, former virtual pilgrimage participant

“I found the virtual pilgrimage to be much more than I expected. To have the translations made each day more meaningful. I also signed up to share the experience with our congregation conference in hopes to get more involvement in the future.” – Kenneth Crouch, former virtual pilgrimage participant.
