Living Out C.A.R.E.S.

C.A.R.E.S. is a foundation for meaningful, Spirit-led work, and designed to shape our culture with grace, purpose, and unity.

The C.A.R.E.S. model centers the mission and vision of the SWC staff in holistic, Christ-centered service:

  • CCovenant Relationships

  • AAccountability and Alignment

  • RResilience and Renewal

  • EEmpowerment through Education

  • SSpiritual Formation and Service

This acronym reminds us that caring is not just what we do—it’s who we are. It's the heartbeat of our ministry and leadership.

Our mission and vision for the Southwest Conference (SWC) staff is inspired by the CARES model and rooted in Hebrews 10:24–25:

 Mission Statement

Guided by Christ’s love, the Southwest Conference cultivates Covenant Relationships, nurtures Accountability and Alignment, promotes Resilience and Renewal, champions Empowerment through Education, and deepens Spiritual Formation and Service.

Together, we CARE—serving with intention, compassion, and unity as we build up one another for love and good deeds in every congregation and community.

 Vision Statement

We envision a Spirit-led Southwest Conference where every congregation embodies Christ’s care—rooted in connection, strengthened by shared purpose, and empowered to thrive.

By living into the CARES model, we are becoming a collective witness of grace, healing, and hope—encouraging one another and embracing the future God is unfolding among us.

📖 Scripture

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together... but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24–25 (NIV)

This passage invites us to stay connected in purpose, to lift each other up, and to embody encouragement as a spiritual discipline.

As members of the SWC staff, we are more than co-workers or collaborators, —we are co-laborers in Christ. Each part of the C.A.R.E.S. framework calls us to be intentional about how we show up—for each other, for our constituents, and for the vision God has entrusted to this ministry.

  • Covenant Relationships remind us to lead with love and honor our commitments to one another.

  • Accountability and Alignment challenge us to stay rooted in mission, checking ego at the door.

  • Resilience and Renewal grant us grace to rest, reset, and remain faithful during seasons of challenge.

  • Empowerment through Education equips us not just with tools, but with vision.

  • Spiritual Formation and Service keep us grounded in God’s Word as we serve His people.

Our “care” must go beyond our daily task lists—it must reflect God’s heart and our purpose.

🏁 Call to Action

Let’s not just talk about CARES. Let’s live it.

Together, we are building something sacred. As we embrace CARES, may we do so not out of obligation, but out of overflow—because we care, deeply and deliberately.
