There comes a moment in every believer’s journey when God places a calling, an assignment, or an opportunity in front of us — and we must decide whether we’re going to tiptoe into it or step forward with a bold, unapologetic YES.
Now, let me be clear: saying yes to God doesn’t mean you suddenly stop being nervous, unsure, or overwhelmed. Oh no. Sometimes that YES comes with shaking hands, a racing heart, and a whole lot of “Lord, are You sure You meant me?” But something shifts the moment we stop doubting and start agreeing with what God already spoke over our lives.
My YES, this season has stretched me. Seminary stretches me. Ministry stretches me. Office leadership stretches me. But instead of shrinking back, I’m learning to stand tall in the assignment — because if God called me to it, then He already equipped me for it.
Confidence isn’t pretending we have everything under control. Confidence is remembering Who does.
And let me tell you something: there is a different kind of peace that comes when you stop running from your calling and start running with it. There’s a quiet strength that settles in when you stop explaining your anointing to people who didn’t give it to you. There’s a holy confidence that rises when you stop waiting to “feel ready” and choose to trust God instead.
When God calls you, He’s not checking your résumé. He’s checking your willingness.
Your YES won’t always be convenient. It won’t always match your timeline. It won’t always make sense to others. But a God-given YES will always pull you into purpose, maturity, and overflow.
So, here’s where I am: I’m not whispering my YES anymore. I’m not apologizing for my YES. I’m not shrinking my YES down to make others comfortable.
I am walking confidently in my YES — because God is already walking ahead of me, making every crooked place straight.
And if you’ve been wrestling with your own calling, your own next step, your own nudge from the Holy Spirit… this might be the month to stop doubting and say YES with your chest.
Trust me: God can do more with your imperfect YES than you can do with a lifetime of hesitation.
Thought for the Month: “A God-given YES will take you places fear never could.”
