Suggested Theme for ONA Sundays: "Persist with Pride: Hope in Resistance”
Scripture: Romans 12:12

We encourage churches to celebrate June (Pride Month) in ways that best suit the culture and climate of your congregation! As we lead up to our National Gathering in September, consider these suggestions around the theme "Persist with Pride: Hope in Resistance." Use these ideas to spark your imagination and creativity, but feel free to adapt them as needed. Please share your Pride Month activities with us and remember the Coalition in your Pride Month generosity. Stay tuned all month long for ideas, inspiration, and resources from our office.

Here are some ideas around this theme:

Rejoicing in Hope:

Celebration of Progress- Highlight milestones and victories in the LGBTQ+ movement, showcasing how hope has fueled progress.

Uplifting Stories- Share testimonies of resilience and joy from community members.

Patience in Affliction:

Acknowledging Struggles- Create space to acknowledge and validate the ongoing struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community.

Building Support Systems- Emphasize the importance of building and leaning on support systems through challenging times, fostering solidarity and bravery.

Perseverance in Prayer:

Spiritual Resilience- Encourage the community to continue in prayer, meditation, and other spiritual practices that strengthen perseverance.

Please do not feel obliged to limit yourself to these ideas. We look forward to seeing how you celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community this Pride Month!

Each purchase not only bolsters the Open and Affirming Coalition's mission but also honors the LGBTQ+ community while uplifting small LGBTQ+-owned businesses. Stay tuned for upcoming additions – your support means the world to us! Click here to SHOP NOW!
