Invitation from Rev. Dr. Derrick Elliott:

Hello, Beloved Community,

With hearts full of joy and anticipation, Desert Heritage Church UCC/DOC invites all churches within the Southwest Conference to a momentous occasion in the life of the body of Christ: the Ecclesiastical Council for Carlos Sosa. In the spirit of our covenant with one another, we gather not just in procedure but in shared purpose and love. As we convene for the Ecclesiastical Council for Carlos Sosa, we do so as a family united in Christ, committed to supporting each other’s spiritual journeys and upholding the values we cherish. This occasion is a testament to the vibrant, loving, and interconnected body of Christ we are all a part of, embodying the covenant that binds us.

Quorum for the Southwest Conference (SWC) Meetings: As we convene, let us recall the bylaws that guide our Conference, particularly regarding quorums. A quorum at any regular or Special Meeting of the Conference shall consist of those voting Delegates and officers of the SWC present, provided at least fifty percent (50%) of the Local Churches and Communities are represented. This principle not only ensures the inclusivity and fairness of our decisions but also reflects our covenant to make decisions together, respecting the diverse voices within our community.

Please mark your calendars for Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 3:00 pm Arizona/4:00 pm New Mexico & El Paso. This gathering on Zoom is a beautiful opportunity for us to reaffirm our commitment to one another, to grow in faith, and to experience the powerful sense of community that our covenant fosters.

Let us join hands, hearts, and voices in support of Carlos, embracing this moment as a profound expression of the covenant that unites us. Your presence will add to the joy and communal spirit of this event. You will find more details and the link to register below.

In love and fellowship, bound by our covenant, stay safe and be blessed!
