First Congregational UCC Albuquerque is partnering with the COMIDA collaboration to address food insecurity among students, faculty, and staff at CNM and UNM through the new “Grab a Bite” initiative. Congregations are collecting ingredients for affordable, non-perishable meals that cost less than $10 and feed at least three people. FCUCC has already funded 10 meals toward its goal of providing 100 meals for campus distribution in late August. Supporters can donate ingredients from recipe cards available in Fellowship Hall or contribute financially to help purchase meal supplies.
Desert Palm UCC is seeking a new nursery caregiver. If you know someone who enjoys working with young children and may be interested in this opportunity, the church would love to hear from them. A fingerprint clearance card is helpful but not required, and assistance is available for qualified applicants who need to obtain one.
Walking with Shawn: On July 23, members of Church of the Good Shepherd gathered in Albuquerque to honor the life and legacy of Shawn Marqus Dunn on what would have been his 36th birthday. Participants walked together, shared stories, and celebrated Shawn’s passion for building community and getting to know neighbors. The local walk echoed a memorial walk organized by Shawn’s family in Nashville, reconnecting participants with the spirit of friendship, belonging, and connection that Shawn inspired in so many lives.

The Congregational Church of the Valley Outreach Ministry invites volunteers to its next Harm Reduction Kit event on August 9. Following a 10 a.m. potluck brunch in Hayden Hall, participants will help assemble life-saving kits for people in need. A final summer kit-assembly event is planned for September 20.

On Sunday, July 13, Desert Garden UCC held the first event of their newest Mission/Outreach ministry: Bags of Blessings. Members and friends stuffed 96 backpacks full of school supplies to be donated to Native American Connections.
