First Congregational Church Prescott will have a table at the Prescott Pride Palooza this Saturday, June 6. Volunteers from the church will welcome visitors, hand out literature, and talk about their church.
United Church of Sun City will host First Aid, CPR, and AED Training on Tuesday, June 16, 2:00–5:00 pm. Cost is $25. This class will be taught by a representative from LP Health Directions.
Rev. Dr. Guillermo Márquez-Sterling, Senior Pastor of Church of the Red Rocks, will undergo a total knee replacement this summer. Prayers for a quick recovery!
Shepherd of the Hills UCC continues their joyful ecumenical partnership with their neighbor, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church by worshiping together during the summer. In June, both churches will worship at Prince of Peace, and In July, they'll worship at Shepherd of the Hills.
June 1 marks 10 years since Rev. Paul Whitlock began as Senior Pastor at The Church of the Palms UCC in Sun City. The church will celebrate him with a reception after worship on June 7.

This summer, The Good Shepherd will experiment with a brand-new midweek experience called Dinner Church. Chef Javier from the Sahuarita Food Bank will be preparing the main course and participants will bring salads, side dishes and dessert. "Dinner Church is a chance to bring our whole selves—bodies that need food, spirits that need connection, and minds that need room to wonder and grow."
Church of the Painted Hills offers free bingo every month on the first Wednesday, along with prizes and refreshments. Their next bingo day is Wednesday, June 3 from 1 pm to 3 pm.
Congregational Church of the Valley held another successful cooking class as part of the Foster Your Future mission they host. Four young adults, their sponsors, the house mother from one of the group homes and two FYF representatives took part. Mentors are needed to help these young people catch up on the essential life lessons and development opportunities they missed as children.
Since the installation of their solar panels, Church of the Good Shepherd has generated 36 megawatt hours of electricity and saved approximately $4,500 for these 12 months. At that time, they submitted a request for a rebate on the cost of the solar panels from the federal government and have now received that rebate. They expressed their sincere appreciation to Jim Durfee for his outstanding dedication and hard work in helping their church secure the $21,000 rebate for their solar project.
First Congregational Albuquerque is excited about an initiative to reduce their waste stream at potluck by using compostable plates, bowls, and napkins for meals and post-worship fellowship. They'll take the used materials (collected in a dedicated bin after eating) to Full Sun Compost.
