The money is 100% of the offering from the Sun City Sunrise Sun Bowl Service on Easter morning, which United Church has led for 13 years.
Bearing Witness: Humanitarian Stories From The Arizona Borderlands, a moving collection of more than 50 true stories from the Southern Arizona borderlands, offers firsthand accounts of compassion, courage, and human connection amid the realities of migration, has recently been published and is available for sale. Members of The Good Shepherd UCC in Sahuarita read their stories yesterday at the Adult Forum. "Isn’t it great to have so many authors and humanitarians in our midst?"
Congregational Church of the Valley had another successful Harm Reduction Kit event on Sunday, April 12th, assembling 300 foil kits during fellowship hour. This is an ongoing project that will continue during their modified summer schedule.
Last week at Church of the Red Rocks, Pastors Sandra and Guillermo led an animal blessing service in the Painted Cliffs Hall. 29 blessings were given to dogs, stuffed animals and photographed cats, as well as to their human families. Coming up: "Spirituality of Animals" on Sunday, May 17 after the worship service at 11:00 am. Animal chaplain and Interfaith Minister, Rev. Dr. Sandra Byland, speaks to the spiritual relationship we have with the animals in our lives and around us.

This Earth Day, we honor Mother Earth by grieving. Join the community on April 22nd at 7:30 PM at the Arizona Capitol for a candlelight vigil to recognize the loss of environmental protections, reflect and connect with others through reflective activities, and come to terms with our current situation so we can move forward confidently together.
Activities include guided meditation, paper crane folding, storytelling, and poetry-writing. Attendees are invited to bring a candle, a picnic blanket or chair, and an optional offering for a collective vigil display. All are welcome. RSVP
