Read MoreIn recent months, there have been numerous stories of sexual misconduct by men of power in various settings of business, media, entertainment, and politics. In each case, it took the courage of one to name their experience of being sexually harassed or abused by someone more powerful than themselves in order for the sin of sexual abuse to finally be recognized.
We confess that the United Church of Christ (UCC) is not immune to these sins of sexual harassment, abuse, and misconduct. We repent when those in power at any setting of the UCC has acted inappropriately and violated others with their words, actions, or power. We, the Church, have sinned, and we ask for forgiveness from those, who have been violated.

Located on the Nassar family’s 100-acre farm and orchard outside of Bethlehem in the West Bank, The Tent of Nations has become an international peace center attracting thousands of visitors annually.
International visitors, including many Israelis, join together to plant trees, harvest olives and fruit, teach at the Women’s Education Center, lead activities in Summer Children’s Camps, and work together in pursuit of a just peace through non-violent action.

This is the first time a LGBTQ inclusive non-discrimination bill has had bipartisan support at the Arizona Legislature. The bill is sponsored by Representative Daniel Hernandez (D, LD 2), and co-sponsored by Representative César Chávez (D, LD 29), Representative Tony Navarette (D, LD 30), and Senator Kate Brophy McGee (R, LD 28).

Did you hear the exciting news? This week – for the first time in Arizona history – a BIPARTISAN LGBTQ inclusive non-discrimination bill was filed in the House of Representatives. HB2586 would update our state’s current non-discrimination laws to include gay and transgender Arizonans.
But filing the bill is only the first step.
