When people think of suicide, they often conceptualize it as a crisis of mental health. While this framework is often times helpful in understanding the thought processes, emotional states and how to help someone through treatment, the framework does not fully take into account the role of spirituality and faith.

We are asking Congress to enact infrastructure and energy legislation that will promote climate, economic, gender, and racial justice to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy. This includes a commitment to reaching net-zero climate pollution in the electricity sector by 2035 and economy-wide by 2050.
The United States has a responsibility to address climate change at home and around the world, as one of the main perpetrators of climate disruption and pollution. We are also asking that Congress work to provide funding for multilateral and bilateral environmental accounts for FY2022, including $2 billion for the Green Climate Fund, focusing on funding for the most impacted countries and communities, in many cases burdened by historic colonization and ongoing inequities.

If you are a 14–22-year-old Arizona youth or young adult interested in the intersectionality of interfaith dialogue and social justice, join us for an informal conversation. Together we will learn more about diverse faiths, our communities, and one another! All youth and young adults active in their faith communities are welcome for this conversation.
Our faith tells us that each person bears the image of God and each person’s life is valuable. We are called to oppose violence and abuse and ensure the protection and safety of others. Our 14th General Synod spoke to this stating, “Believing in the goodness and equality of men and women in the created order, we must testify that any unnecessary suffering – particularly the physical or sexual abuse of any person – is a blasphemy before God and a grave injustice in our midst.”
