Face painting, jumping castle, fellowship with one another, games, raffles, interaction with the community, music (this year there will be Mariachi Music and Folklorico Dancing), the yummy food that just keeps on coming, and the famous cake walk! These are some of the highlights of the Fall Fiesta! We reach out to the community and to offer a church “Open House” geared toward families!
There are many things that can spin off from such an event. One example is Heather Chapman. Heather heard that Community of Hope Preschool was closing and was looking for another place for the preschool to meet. So, she knocked on our door inquiring. She was the first to bring up the prospect of the preschool and to invite the preschool teachers to visit Church of the Painted Hills. Well, three years after Heather’s first visit Painted Hills Preschool is up-and-running with fifteen kids in attendance. Why do I bring up Heather Chapman? Because when she visited I asked her, “How did you find out about Church of the Painted Hills?” Her response: “Oh, I came to the Fall Festival with my family.”
