Learning to Live the "God Can" Life

The "God Can" Life is an eight week study in the church library each week through the end of October. This study will use a book by Max Lucado and will be led by Pastor Chuck Carlson and Malinda Greeley but will include ample discussion and study time.

Understanding and communicating with those who suffer from memory loss and dementia

First Congregational Church of Prescott, Wednesdays, September 18 & 25, 5 p.m.

Ronda Hatfield, LPN, is a retired home health nurse worked with caregivers and facilitated caregiver support groups over the last 15 years of her career. She will lead a presentation and discussion on developing kind and compassionate interactions with those experiencing memory loss and dementia. She will show a DVD by Teepa Snow, MS, occupational therapist and dementia care specialist.

Oberammergau 2020

Pastor Vernon Meyer of Sun Lakes United Church of Christ will lead a tour to the Passion Play in Oberammergau in 2020.

The Passion Play is an event held every 10 years to celebrate the end of the plague in the small town of Oberammergau in the Bavarian region of southern Germany. The villager’s prayers were answered by God and therefore in 1634 the first Passion Play took place. The promise has been kept until today. 2020 will mark the 42nd time the play had been presented. The play is a sell out and the only way to get tickets is through a package tour.  The group will be visiting Vienna, Innsbruck and Salzburg in Austria, Oberammergau and Munich in Germany.
