2:00 PM at Rincon Congregational UCC

Siblings Bellamy and Richard Bailey (harpists), along with friends Renee Li (pianist) and Genevieve Tranum, will be performing in concert on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of our church.  The concert, featuring classical, jazz, and world music, as well as Christmas favorites, is being held in support of Rincon UCC’s hospitality program.  The concert is free, and free-will offerings will be accepted and donated entirely to the individuals who receive assistance from our church’s hospitality mission.

Dear Rev. Bill Lyons and Friends in the Southwest Conference,

Thank you for your second quarterly installment of our New Church Start Matching Funds Grant. Your very generous grant is helping us build a progressive, social-justice-oriented community of faith in Taos, NM.  Our mission is simple: A Just World for All.  Together we believe another world is possible, and somehow, in God, it is already here. Your grant will be used to support a community that works to create a healthy, more just world, through our work in climate justice, economic justice, and immigration justice.

Here is a brief update on what we’ve been doing:

On November 14, the Church of the Palms' Social Justice Team (SJT) will visit the Refugee Focus campus in Phoenix. Refugee Focus is a division of Lutheran Social Service of the Southwest and is supported by many local churches. The SJT has identified it as an organization with which it plans to partner. This visit will point out ways to do that.

Agape means Love. We live in a world overwhelmed with divisiveness, pain, and confusion....Now more than ever, it is time to come together in the Spirit of Love, Good Food, Laughter, Inclusiveness, and Inner Peace.

Thanks to everyone who made Taos UCC's Earth Justice Sunday so joyful.

Taos UCC had 25 adults and 1 child in worship today. It was a wonderful, spirit-filled service focused on Earth Justice and protecting our only earth.

Wondering how you will survive the weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas? Are you dreading these holidays, knowing that everything has changed and that happy memories from past years can’t be recreated?

This Surviving the Holidays seminar is especially for people who are grieving a loved one’s death.

What does this ancient teaching of the Jewish teacher, Jesus, offer to our world today? Whether you are a person of any faith or no faith, you are welcome to this circle. We bring this ancient teaching into conversation with our lives. We meet each Wednesday from 5:15 - 6:15 pm at SOMOS, 108B Civic Plaza Drive, Taos, NM.  Co-led by Pamela Shepherd and Todd Wynward.  All Are Welcome! 

The Musical Director/Worship Team Leader is the recruiter, arranger, bandleader, choir director and musical counterpart to the clergy responsible for the service. This enthusiastic, energetic and creative person is responsible for supporting our clergy in building a ministry that attracts musicians and vocalists, creates transformative environments and produces passionate worshippers through the medium of music and the creative arts. Experience in a wide range of musical genres is desired.
